Journal of North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power (Natural Science Edition) is governed by the Education Department of Henan Province and sponsored by North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power. First published in 1980, it is a bimonthly journal, currently indexed by the Chinese Core Journals, Key Magazine of China Technology, and RCCSE China Core Academic Journals (Grade A). The journal won the 2022 Henan Excellent Publication Award. With a distinctive focus on water resources, it is included in full-text databases such as CNKI, Wanfang, and CQVIP, and  its articles can be accessed in full text via Xuexitong app

 

Journal of North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power (Natural Science Edition) is committed to advancing the principles of modern water management—prioritizing conservation, promoting spatial balance, pursuing integrated governance, and leveraging both administrative and market forces. Focusing on the evolving needs of water sector reform in the new era, the journal aims to publish cutting-edge research in water science from both China and abroad, foster academic exchange, and support the high-quality development of water resource industry in its new phase.

 

Main publishing scope includes: hydraulic engineering, hydrology and water resources, water ecology, water environment, water security, flood and drought disaster prevention, river and port navigation, fluvial dynamics, smart water conservancy, water affairs engineering, soil and water conservation and ecological restoration, and other water-science–related fields, as well as research directions intersecting water science with geological engineering, civil engineering, energy engineering, and other disciplines.

 

Recent special topics include: the interconnection between water, energy, and food; water security and water resource assurance in North China; eco-hydrology and soil and water conservation in the Yellow River Basin; four early-stage measures, and drought management; digital twin technology for river basins (and water conservancy projects); coupling and regulation of human-water relationships; climate change and water security; intelligent monitoring via water-related satellite remote sensing; and national water network security and high-quality development of the water resource industry.
